HOW THE PROCESS WORKS
Designer and couturier, Alicia Reina consults directly with clients to design and develop their customized gown.
After designs and fabrics have been selected, measurements are taken and an initial sample (usually made from muslin, a cotton like fabric) is made. From here, various fittings in the sample (usually 2-3) are required to make sure the fit and silhouette is as desired by the client. This is the time where clients are able to determine how they feel about the design and any changes necessary can be made before cutting the gown in the final fabric.
Once the design and fit has been finalized, the final pattern is cut in the chosen fabrics. Another 1-2 fittings, depending, in the final gown is recommended to make any last minute alterations before the gown is completed. Now the gown is ready and happy clients are ready to walk down the isle and dance the night away celebrating the joyous occasions of life!
Having a custom gown made can be an exciting and an overwhelming experience all at the same time. AR Bridal has a few suggestions before deciding if having a gown custom made is the right choice.
Do research! Visit local salons to try on dresses, veils and any other accessories. This is the best way to determine what silhouette works best with your body shape as sometimes images in photographs and what we envision for ourselves are not as flattering on in real life.
Knowing what you like regarding silhouette and designs details like color, ruffles, beading, lace, and embroideries will make it more fun and simpler when designing your dream gown.
Having had plenty of experience working with clients, Alicia is also happy to make suggestions and recommendations on a client-to-client basis. AR Bridal strives to make the process an enjoyable and memorable occasion for clients!
